The Journey of The Jade Ring
The concept of two souls bound together since the beginning of time launched the idea for The Journey of the Jade Ring.
Where might souls go while waiting to be reborn into their next life? Speculation abounds. Accounts of near-death experiences seem to have a similar thread. A bright light. A spirit guide, where a tree in the world’s center connects heaven and earth, converging all times and places. A meeting place for souls waiting for their next existence.
What if two souls meet, find they are each the other’s half and vow to find one another in subsequent lives?
While visiting an Asian antique store, the proprietor explained how jade possessed magical qualities spanning many generations. Could this be the portal to follow two lovers through time?
Thinking of leisure activities soul mates might enjoy, flying a kite came to mind. Researching the origins of the kite led to the inventor, Lu Ban, who lived in China in the fourth century BCE during the Warring States period, is now remembered as the father of carpentry. Many of his inventions are still in use today. Lu Ban identified the wedge shape stone, the key to the masonry arch, before the Romans in the first century BCE.
Lu Ban lived by his core value to always do good deeds or suffer in your next life. The jade ring guides him to his soul mate, and gives him inspiration and warnings. Lu Ban struggles with an ultimatum from a general who demands Lu Ban invent war machines in order to protect his wife, Yun. What is the price for his decision?
